High School FB: Two A Days – Las Cruces

las cruces… 2014 was an odd season for las cruces… the bulldawgs entered the season as the defending state champions… but after an up and down season … the dogs were out in round 2… it left a bad taste in mouths of the players… prompting this year’s motto. team: leave no doubt. leave no doubt. leave no doubt. stand up:injuries are the biggest reason las cruces went just 6-6 last season… but all that playing time the young players got creates depth which makes this team much more dangerous. jim miller: now these kids know the offense, they know the defense. special teams wise, they were special teams players too. it helps us do a lot more in the off season. delgadillo: we’re coming back out to prove everyone wrong. there’s a lot of doubters, of course, but we’re coming out for the championship and that’s our goal. what will help the team is the return of a healthy kameron miller at quarterback … he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the state and battled through a knee injury last year… now he says that knee is at 110%…. kameron miller: “we’re anxiou to get back on the field. we want that blue trophy so bad. all of our guys want it bad and we’re ready for it.” ji miller: “he’s been here since h was two years old. this is his opportunity as a senior. he won one as a sophomore and we won one when he was a freshman. last year he got hurt a little bit, so he’s got a little chip on his shoulder and he’s excited about this year.” the bulldawgs ar salavating at the opportunity to reclaim a state title… they’ve already proven they have what it takes… if they stay healthy, it could be another historic year … las cruces opens it’s season against montwood a week from friday… the mayfield game is on november 6th… you can find all of our two a days features on our website… kvia dot com… the chihuahuas were looking for their 7th straight win… las vegas is losing
