Fire forces evacuation of Central El Paso Denny’s

A fire forced employees and patrons to evacuate a Denny’s in Central El Paso early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on the 6000 block of Montana. Smoke could be seen coming from the restaurant in video sent by viewers to ABC-7. No injuries were reported. Firefighters say the fire was electrical in nature, and started behind the sign in the entrance. Some witnesses told ABC-7 the fire was started by lightning, but fire crews would not confirm that.
