aftermath of saturday’s storm. that’s the one that left so many las crucens with hail damage to their cars and homes. reporter jamie warren has dona ana county covered for us tonight. she is following the bit of relief already offered for the storm victims. jamie is live in las cruces tonight with our new mexico mobile newsroom. jamie? rick and maria, with all this weather damage we’ve been having to cars in las cruces…insurance companies across lc are warning you go to a reputable source when looking for repairs as we’ve shown you, this is just how dangerous some of that hail we experienced on saturday was farmers bureau financial services is offering a one stop shop for assisting customers who felt the brunt of that storm. pat cambell insurance tells me theyve processed over 200 claims since monday. officials are warning to be on the lookout for fly-by-night repair businesses swooping into town to make a quick buck. “there will be a lot people coming into town saying that they can do your work right away. be cautious because those folks may not be there in a month or two. some people are going to represent themselves to be licensed adjusters and contractors. make sure if they are an adjuster ask if they can issue a check…if they they cannot…go back to the insurance company and ask about that.” although there was severe weather over the weekend it looks like las cruces managed to not get hit just yet. we will continue giving you the latest updates on our first alert coverage on air and online if you are just joing us, the abc- seven first alert
