Mountain goats in the Franklins?

might have seen it. some people have caught a glimpse of a white aparition in the franklin mountains. the myterious sightings have drivers asking what is it? abc-7’s jerry najera has been scouring through transmountain looking for this omninous white ghost he is live with the story … ashlie we know there’s lots of wildlife in the franklins… but with a white coat..you just dont see that. a viewer finally got a shot of the animal but there’s more to the story than meets the eye. deep within the transmountain pass drivers have been spotting something white among the shrubs. we know there’s deer-cougars- coyotes and new critters that make their home there everyday. some have said it could be the majestic horned sheep.. or maybe even the prestigious mountain goat.. “if you want to see mountain goats you want to go to colorado or the rocky mountains or the sierras” lois balin is th wildlife and urban specialist for texas parks and wildlife. she says the chance of a mountain goat living in the franklins would be a million to one. but take a look.. here it is-a video sent to us by rick monreal. park officials say more than likely it’s a domestic goat. “they must be escapees from somebody’s home a lot of people have goats” they say the goats on the mountain- 4 that they’ve seen so far can be a problem for the environment. we’ve all heard goats will eat anything burritos- pants-even hair. “when they graze they graze a the ground level much lower than cows so they do a lot of damage that way” balin tells me there is chance the goats could survive but remember the goats could survive but remember the animals we mentioned before? “we also have predators out her lot’s of coyotes we have mountain lions so they’ll probably be an easy meal for one of those animals” balin simply has a message for those with domesticated animals in the area. “i hope that the goat find another home in somebody’s house and just encourage people not to let their domesticated animals run wild” they say as far as right now they don’t have a plan to remove the goats there’s thousands of acres of land to comb through they just hope they can make their way back home before they become food. a dona ana county woman fears there’s something terribly wrong with her
