NMSU Police investigate suspicious package on campus
New Mexico State University Police investigated a suspicious package at The Performing Arts Center on the main campus Thursday morning.
Our New Mexico Mobile Newsroom confirmed that at about 8:30 in the morning, NMSU Police and Fire responded to reports of a suspicious package.
Authorities asked students, faculty and staff to avoid the area. They then determined that the package was no longer a threat just before 9 a.m.
Classes at The Performing Arts Center were delayed until after 10 a.m. as they wrapped up the investigation.
No word yet on the contents of the package.
