EPFD giving away 100 free fire extinguishers

The El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) will be giving away 100 free fire extinguishers on Saturday as part of Fire Prevention Week.

The first 100 residents who visit the new EPFD Community Fire House at 9 a.m. Saturday October 10, will receive a free extinguisher.

The new Community Center is located at 5415 Trowbridge.

Residents can also bring their own extinguishers to be inspected and/or recertified.
EPFD partnered up with Western States Fire Protection Systems and Henderson Fire Systems for the event.

EPFD will also be providing free safety information and fire extinguisher classes.
People can also sign up for home safety surveys, evacuation planning and or free smoke alarm instillations.

The event is for the whole family and there will be activities for children as well.
