Las Cruces man accused of molesting girlfriend’s 2 children

Authorities say a Las Cruces man has been accused of sexually molesting his girlfriend’s two young children.

Las Cruces police said Thursday that 25-year-old Bobby Christopher Mendoza has been booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a $150,000 cash-only bond.

They say Mendoza is being held on suspicion of 13 counts of first-degree felony criminal sexual penetration of a child, four counts of second-degree criminal sexual contact of a minor, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of tampering with evidence.

State Child Protective Services received information that Mendoza allegedly was sexually abusing his girlfriend’s 5-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son.

Police say Mendoza has been in a relationship with the children’s mother for three years.

It’s unclear if Mendoza has a lawyer.
