Annual Pink Walk provides “Moment of Hope” for supporters and survivors

Survivors and supporters of people fighting breast cancer woke up extra early this morning for “Moment of Hope.”

The El Dorado High School cheerleaders and marching band joined them for the seventh annual Pink Walk at the Hospitals of Providence’s East Campus in Far East El Paso.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Month event is used to urge people to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

“This walk is a great opportunity to bring much needed attention to the importance of Early Detection as the Best Prevention to breast cancer,” Nicholas Tejeda, CEO of East Campus said in a news release. “We invite everyone to come out and support the brave individuals battling this disease.”

Before the annual walk, participants created a pink ribbon formation they called a “Moment of Hope.”

Organizers also provided information on breast examinations and mammograms
