Hail — some as big as eggs — pounds Doa Ana County
Marble to golf-ball-sized hail forced motorist to take cover under overpasses Wednesday in Mesilla..
The hail storm hit about 1:15 p.m., and heavy rain continued through 3 p.m.
Several trucks, as well as the New Mexico Mobile Newsroom, took cover under an overpass to let the hail storm blow through.
The National Weather service said NMSU received hail as big as a hens’ eggs.
