Out For Blood gears up for Halloween
Local prosecutors are going bar to bar, raising awareness for the Out for Blood Program.
By Texas law, a peace officer can obtain a search warrant for evidence of intoxication. The signed warrant allows the officer to take the person to a facility to have their blood drawn, which will indicate how much alcohol is in their system.
Out for Blood is described as “edgy” by District Attorney Jaime Esparza and adds that over this past year, it has brought promising results.
Reporter Evan Folan joined the county prosecutors as they went to the bars, and he filed an open records request to receive video of the blood being drawn.
