Sunland Park Police seek help finding missing woman

a suspicious disappearance in sunland park. an elderly woman missing, with few clues where she might be. she’s 86-year old marcos gomez. police say the unusual first name is correct – and that she suffers from dementia. she was last seen living with her daughter and grandkids at her home in sunland park. abc7’s josie ortegon tells us why there’ more to the story. josie: rick, estela. at this point police have more questions than answers. they have no idea where she and the other people living in the home may be, and neither does the rest of her family. police were at the woman’s home last week – and say they believe she could be in danger: :04-:09 sot detective sanchez “we’v gone out on several occasions to check on her welfare. there have been neighbors and relatives that said she’s being mistreated.” last week, they were back at the woman’s home–only this time, because of a burglary. when police arrived, they found gomez’s grandson. police say he couldn’t tell them where the rest of the family, including gomez, was. neighbors told police they hadn’t seen the woman in months. sot: detective andy sanchez, sunland park “i find i suspicious that her own son doesn’t know where she’s at. he hadn’t seen her in the last eight months.” th family depends on gomez’s social security checks. but detective sanchez says those will stop until she appears. police say they have no evidence of foul play and no suspects as of yet. but they know something isn’t right: “right now, we’re hoping for th best and hoping she is okay and it’s just a matter of a communication issue between family members a at this time, this is a missing persons investigation, not a criminal investigation. if you have any information please call police at -589-2225. / let’s hope they find her ok. thank you for filling us in. new information on the wife of an ex-
