need to correct it before it gets out of hand.” it’s what has parents in the el apso school district talking tonight. what’s supposed to be a time a family will never forget… has an unexpected twist. and it brings picture day embarrassment to a whole new level. but some parents in the el paso school district are shocked as they try to review their kids’ photos. and they’re sharing their stories with abc-seven. it’s tonight’s top story. “i think it’s ridiculous an inapproriate obviously. what if kids get acces to the internet like they usually do?” some parents at e-p- i-s-d elementary schools, like collins in northeast el paso say the mistake is scary! and we understand why. a link to preview their child’s picture actually takes them to an adult website! “it’s crazy i wouldn’t want the to mix the links up. just keep it about school business and everything./” abc-seven got a copy of the letter sent out by the el paso school district .. and here’s what it says. “we have learned of an incident involving some promotional materials distributed by a school photographer – hot shots photography. the vendor incorrectly listed the address to an adult website on the photo order form distributed to parents.” episd hires “hot shot photography” to take pictures of thousands of school children… including crosby elementary near irvin high school. we called the owner who says that although he can’t comment he does apologize for anyone who clicked on the incorrect link. he says the company is looking for a completely different domain name to avoid this from happening again. so abc-seven looked into how something like this happened. the better business bureau and google searches show a website previously associated with hot shots photography is now a porn site owned by a chinese company. we reached out to episd. the director of community engagement tells us they were alerted to the material printed by a third party vender earlier this month… the district and is no longer sending the flyer to families. episd has also stopped using hot shot photography and is reviewing the incident and vendor. ” this should be happening in colleges …” episd couldn’t tell us how many pictures hot shots takes every year.. but abc-seven confirmed the letter was sent to students at 15 schools. at each, between 3-hundred and 4-hundred students got one. that’s about 6- thousand families who received a link to the pornographic site. that’s about 10 percent of the district’s student population. rick? el paso’s county judge gave
