Arrest warrant issued for woman after Santa Teresa standoff

dona ana sheriffs office tell us following a swat situation this morning near the 200 block of cherry hill lane. they say this woman 35-year-old kendra shahan broke into the couples home early this morning and she’s still on the run. abc-7’s jerry najera was at the scene and has this report. “we knew that the situation started at 4:30” dona ana sherrifs officials say 35- year-old kendra shahan broke into a couples home with a weapon. “th woman allegedly had come into the home and threatened the couple with a knife” official say the couple was held against their will for more than two hours. when they managed to get out of the home they called police. “we brough additional units around 7-clock this morning including our special response team and our bomb squad” on video you’ll see only on abc-7 you can see an agent in body armour-heavily armed near the home. after several hours of trying to make contact and negotiate with shan they had no success only to find out she had taken off. “we do know that there i a relationship between this person and the couple who owned the home this was not a random issue” daso officials say this is not the first time shahan has had run- ins with the law. she does have a criminal history that is somewhat similar to what happened today again aggrivated assault” a for the home owners. “the couple was uninjured visible shaken i don’t think anyone has this happen to them in the course of their day” shahan will be charged with two aggravated assault charges her bond is charged with two aggravated assault charges her bond iset at 30-thousand dollars. authorities
