Pedestrian in traffic collision has died
Update: A man hit by a truck in South El Paso has died.
Police say 85-year-old Everardo Gutierrez-Romo was not in a crosswalk when he was hit.
It happened just after 4 p.m. Monday afternoon on the 500 block of Kansas.
He died on Thursday at University medical Center.
Original Story: A pedestrian injured in a traffic collision Monday has been identified.
Everado Gutierrez-Romo, 85, of El Paso, was struck by a vehicle in South El Paso shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30.
Police say a 2013 Ford F250 made a left, southbound turn, onto Kansas from Third St. and struck Gutierrez-Romo.
Gutierrez-Romo was crossing the street diagonally, not at a crosswalk or at the intersection, according to police.
He was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
There are no charges pending against the driver.
El Paso Police had previously said in a tweet Monday afternoon that the pedestrian had died.
