The City of Las Cruces shines bright with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

The City of Las Cruces’ annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place Friday, Dec. 4, at Albert Johnson Park, corner of Picacho Avenue and north Main Street.

Mayor Ken Miyagishima lead the public in the lighting ceremony at approximately 6 p.m. A performance by the Picacho Middle School Choir begin the event.

A new attraction to the event was the Camino Real Sculptures, which have been placed at their new location near the Christmas Tree. The sculptures were relocated from Main Street on the former “Yellow Brick Road” in Downtown.
