Attorney General demonstrates use of force simulator at Dona Ana Community College
In a news conference on Tuesday, Attorney General Hector Balderas said he wants more funding to crack down on child molesters and medicaid fraud in Dona Ana County. But, he also tookTuesday’s meeting as an opportunity to show the media some state of the art technology that helps train police officers when it comes to responding to violent situations.
Balderas tested out the simulation technology at Dona Ana Community College. While it was staged, the scenarios are very real.
The technology is used by Las Cruces Police, the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State Police.
Along with law enforcement in New Mexico, more than 500 officers in training at their police program at DACC are using the technology as well.
