El Paso Police bomb squad investigates suspicious package at eastside bank; no explosives found

Update: From El Paso Police- The El Paso Police Department’s Bomb Squad, assisted by the FBI, responded to a suspicious item that was located outside of a bank. The call initiated around 6:38 this morning and was resolved around 9:00am. No explosives were located and no threats were received. The response was initiated by an officer who observed the suspicious item and called it in.

Original Story: El Paso police and the El Paso Fire Department responded to reports of a suspicious package Tuesday morning.

The suspicious package was reported around 7 a.m. at 8840 Gazelle Drive. The package was discovered in the Evolve Federal Credit Union parking lot.

The bomb squad was called out to inspect the package.

No more information was available.
