UPDATE: Roads reopened after deadly crash

El Paso County Sheriff’s investigators confirmed with ABC-7 that the eastbound lanes of the 13000 block of Montana Avenue are reopened this morning.

ORIGINAL STORY

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a deadly crash, closing a portion of a busy street for part of the morning.

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Montana Avenue just before 1 a.m. on Thursday.

Through their investigation, officials believe a Ford F-150 headed east on Montana veered off the road, driving onto the shoulder and hitting a light pole. Deputies said the truck ended up rolling before coming to a stop.

The driver was taken to a hospital, where he died. EPCSO officials have only identified the driver as a man who ranged in age from 45 – 50 years old.

Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators are closing the 13000 block of East Montana Ave until approximately 6:30a.m. while they continue gathering information.
