What’s allowed for cosplay at theaters for Star Wars screenings

Movie theaters around the world just might look like Mos Eisley’s infamous cantina tonight and the next few days.

No, they won’t be hives for scum and villainy but die-hard Star Wars fans — many of whom will be decked out in costumes, capes, and masks.

A Star Wars party just wouldn’t be the same without all the characters showing up.

But be aware of the rules.

If you’re going to Cinemark, leave the masks inside the car. You also won’t be allowed to have face paint either. Simulated weapons like lightsabers and blasters also won’t be allowed inside.

Over at Premiere Cinemas and IMAX and Carmike Cinemas, you can only wear masks and carry toy weapons outside the theater. Once you go in, the masks must come off.
