Space heater causes warehouse fire in Far East El Paso

A space heater caused a warehouse fire in Far East El Paso overnight.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies say the fire happened shortly after midnight Sunday on the 500 block of Nonap Road.

When deputies arrived they found a warehouse fully engulfed in flames.

Crews with the San Elizario, Clint, Horizon City, and Socorro Fire Departments worked for about an hour to extinguish the fire.

The initial investigation by the Fire Marshal indicates that the fire was accidental and that it was caused due to a space heater that was left on.

No one was inside the warehouse at the time of the fire. Damage is estimated at $325,000.
