Shooting in South Central leaves one dead

Police tell ABC-7 a 56-year old man was shot and killed on Alameda and Tobin, Sunday evening and a suspect is still on the loose.

Police say they are searching multiple locations around the city.

Sergeant Robert Gomez with El Paso Police confirms the shooting happened a little before 5 p.m. Sunday evening. Alameda from Tobin to Washington was closed for multiple hours. Gomez says one location possibly linked to the shooting was SunValley Drive. One resident who lives nearby tells ABC-7 they weren’t allowed to re-enter their neighborhood for hours and heard police calling a name on a megaphone.

“We heard some name calling, someone calling Daniel to come outside and helicopters,” he said.

Police wouldn’t confirm if they’re looking for one suspect or multiple suspects. ABC-7 will keep you updated on air and online as more information comes in.
