Missing Kansas woman allegedly leads TX state troopers on high speed chase
State police officers arrested a woman reported missing in Kansas after she allegedly refused to pull over, leading troopers on a high-speed chase.
Julia Ann Curry, 58, is charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, a third degree felony.
State police officials tell ABC-7 a state trooper in Culberson County tried to pull over Curry because she was speeding on I-10 West near mile marker 139. It happened at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Curry refused to stop and led troopers on a car chase that lasted nearly an hour-and-a-half, according to state police officials.
A check of the vehicle’s registration revealed a person associated with it, Curry, had been entered into the National Crime Information Center as a “missing endangered person” out of Kansas, officials said.
Troopers were eventually able to deflate the vehicle’s tires and the chase came to an end at about 2:20 PM.
Curry was arrested at on I-10 West near mile marker 53, 86 miles from the spot where troopers initially tried to pull her over in Culberson County.
