Busy westside intersection closed due to early morning crash
Traffic was snarled in West El Paso early Wednesday morning after two cars crashed at the intersection of Sunland Park and Mesa, with one of them hitting an electrical pole.
The crash happened just before 2 in the morning. Police say nobody was injured, but the electrical pole that was struck was causing a traffic hazard.
El Paso Electric repair crews have blocked off the northern part of the intersection. Traffic heading northbound on Mesa is being forced to take a right on Shadow Mountain or a left down Sunland Park. Traffic heading southbound on Mesa will have to take a detour down Balboa and take Fiesta to Sunland Park.
