and stephanie valle have the day off. before we get to the forecast, let’s get to an abc-7 traffic alert in west el paso — the north and southbound lanes on mesa at sunland park are closed right now after a two car crash caused a hazard for drivers. the crash happened just before 2 a.m. no one was injured but el paso police say a car hit an electrical pole which is having to be repaired. if you are heading south on mesa—you can detour down balboa onto fiesta and back up to sunland park. there you can go right to get back on mesa to go around the hazard. if you are heading north on mesa you will be forced to take a right on shadow mountain or left down sunland park. this is a live look right now at the intersection .. el paso electric crews are on the scene working to fix the pole. according to emergency radio transmissions, they expect to have it cleared by 8a.m. so just give yourself some extra time and be careful as you hit the roads this morning. now let’s send this over to chief. kenneth moton, abc news washington. the 15-year-old boy who led police on a high-speed chase in october from el paso to otero county is on probation… at least for the charges in new mexico. edwin rodriguez faced more charges in new mexico than the other four teens involved. one of them was aggravated assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon. he pleaded no contest. rodriguez was able to walk away with 2 years probation under strict guidelines, but that didn’t stop judge waylan counts from explaing his dissatisfaction. your behavior was egregious dangerous unexcusible since his arrest, rodriguez has been staying in a juvenile facility in gallup nm and will stay there for one more week before being released to his parents. but childrens court attorney ellen jessen says within that time he will more then likely be served an arrest warrant for his charges pending in texas. the other teens still face charges…. 14 year old jaquil webb pleaded guilty to other charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. also waiting to be sentenced are 15 year old evelyn brown … and 14- year-olds antonio brown and isaiah garcia. afterward all 5 could face charges in el paso county. we now know the name of the man that was killed after a motorcycle crash monday night. it happened on the 18-hundred block of zaragoza in far east el paso. he is identified as 23-year-old eder rene romero. police say the driver of that car that hit him — 52-year-old patricia acosta — failed to yield the right of way. at this time acosta is not facing any charges. there’s still no explanation as to why a man was on the freeway when he got hit by a semi yesterday. and still no update on his condition. it happened around 2 pm on i-10 west near the mcrae exit. that’s in east el paso. traffic came to a standstill and the freeway was shutdown for about 3 hours. police say the man was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. now it’s time to take a look at
