Police release name of woman killed in traffic collision in East El Paso Wednesday morning

Update: El Paso Police have released the identity of the woman killed in a traffic collision in East El Paso Wednesday morning.

She is 35-year-old Amanda Hopkins of El Paso.

Police Special Traffic Investigators say that Hopkins was driving a 2015 Cadillac SRX traveling north at the 1800 block of Dale Douglas when, for an unknown reason, Hopkins lost control of her vehicle.

She drove the vehicle onto a residential property where it collided into two unoccupied parked cars.

One of the parked cars struck the residence causing structural damage to the residence.

Hopkins was transported to Del Sol Medical Center where she died.

According to the El Paso Police twitter page it could be a fatal.

The crash was reported early Wednesday morning on the 1800 block of Dale Douglas Drive near Trawood Drive.

At least one person was taken to an area hospital.

No more information was available.
