Two injured in mobile home fire

One person has been airlifted to Lubbock after being burned during a house fire in San Elizario.

The fire broke out around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, on the 300 block of Fulbrook Avenue.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office told ABC-7 that the victims are a 51-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman.The victims were initially taken to University Medical Center in El Paso with burn injuries. From there, the man was airlifted to Lubbock for further treatment.

The San Elizario, Clint, Socorro, and Horizon Fire Departments all responded to the fire.Fire crews say when they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. Authorities say the home is a total loss.

Fire crews say the home next door was damaged, as well.

The Red Cross will be assisting the family.

It remains unclear if the mobile home had a smoke alarm.
