Boutique ‘Hotel Indigo’ now open
ABC-7 got a tour of the swanky new Hotel Indigo. The boutique hotel opened last week in downtown El Paso.
While it looks contemporary, the concept and design were inspired by El Paso’s history. Guest will notice it in the materials, furniture, and flare of the hotel.
The hotel is also covered with works by local artists in custom installations. The building once housed the Downtowner Motor Inn, which opened in 1963.
The pool, bar, and lobby are on the fifth floor.
A restaurant is scheduled to open in February which will be open to all. The Downtowner will be a neighborhood style eatery that also pays homage to the building’s history.
Circa 1963, the mixology bar, is also now open inside the hotel. It is open nightly from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“El Paso is reclaiming its place as the most exciting city in the Southwest and Hotel Indigo is proud to be part of that renaissance,” said Miguel Diaz, General Manager of the Hotel Indigo.
“The Hotel Indigo is a place to celebrate today’s excitement alongside the glamor of mid-century El Paso.”
The 119-room hotel will host a grand opening ceremony in March 2016. Rooms can be booked right now at IHG.com.
