Homes flooded in Lower Valley after irrigation ditch overflows

The El Paso Fire Department is responding to a flooding situation in the Lower Valley.

The incident was reported early Tuesday morning around 3 a.m. when an irrigation ditch backed up and began to overflow on the 8300 block of Verde Circle.

The Fire Department reports that 11 homes have been evacuated and at least 6 have been damaged so far. Firefighters say 15 adults and 3 infants who live in the area have been evacuated, and they are requesting help from the Red Cross.
