3 arrested after drug bust in Las Cruces

Dona Ana County Sheriff’s officials say three men have been arrested after a drug bust.

They were taken into custody about 6 a.m. Wednesday after a warrant was served.

Sheriff’s deputies had been conducting surveillance for the past week after a tip that drugs were being bought and sold from a home.

They say 34-year-old David Jones, 28-year-old Phillip Jones and 31-year-old Ricardo Kelly are being held without bond at the county detention center.

Phillip Jones is accused of failing to register as a sex offender and resisting or obstructing arrest.

Kelly is accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

David Jones is being held on suspicion of marijuana possession and being a fugitive from justice out of Virginia.
