Police charge man in connection with aggravated truck robbery

Police arrested a man Saturday night in Downtown El Paso after he allegedly robbed a truck.

Hector Manuel Alva, 38, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

According to police, Alva walked up to a 2002 Toyota Tacoma in an alley on the 1400 block of Texas Ave and took off with the truck with the keys in the ignition.

Police say that the owner of the truck, a 33-year-old man, ran after Alva and was dragged by the truck as he drove off. The man suffered road rash on his hands and stomach.

Officers were able to locate the truck on Virginia and Mills.

Alva was found on the 900 block of Olive with paint on his face and head. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
