NMSU football to face Kentucky on the road Saturday
LEXINGTON, KY – After a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico, the NM State football team is set to take on Kentucky onSaturdayat 2 p.m. MT in Commonwealth Stadium for its final non-conference game before league play begins. The game will be televised on the SEC Alternate Network with Taylor Zarzour on play-by-play, Jordan Rodgers on color and Kevin Weidl as the sideline reporter.

Wide receiver Greg Hogan caught an eight-yard pass from quarterback Tyler Rogers against the Aggies in-state rival to give the home team its first lead with 5:46 remaining in the game. The Aggies trailed by as much as 11 points during the game and were down 17-9 heading into the locker room at the break.
Kicker Parker Davidson hit a career-high four field goals, which included a personal best 45-yard field goal, to spur the Aggies to victory.
“That’s what a rival game is supposed to be, down to the wire,” said head coach Doug Martin. “We’ve had a couple of those. I’m really proud of our team, the way they foughttonight. They just wouldn’t give up. The defense stepped up and made plays, the offense stepped up and made plays. It was a great team win for our fans and for the students of this university.”
Rogers amassed his second consecutive 200-yard passing game of the 2016 season. With 205 yards against the Lobos, Rogers now has 12 200-yard passing games in his career. Rogers amassed those yards with 21 completions on 35 attempts. In addition, the senior racked up two touchdown passes.
This is the first meeting between the Aggies andnext Saturday’s opponent, Kentucky. The Wildcats are 0-2 this season after a 44-35 loss to Southern Miss on opening weekend and a 45-7 loss at Floridalast Saturday.
During the game against the Gators, Kentucky amassed 149 yards of total offense with 94 rushing yards and 55 passing yards. The Wildcats were led by Drew Barker who went 1-for-10 for 10 yards and threw three interceptions. Stanley Williams led the running game with 66 yards on 12 carries. Kentucky’s lone touchdown of the game came with 4:27 remaining on the clock on Jojo Kemp’s two-yard rush into the end zone.
