Chihuahuas take 2-0 series lead after beating OKC 10-4
EL PASO, Texas – The El Paso Chihuahuas hit three home runs in their 10-4 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in Game 2 of the Pacific Coast League Championship SeriesWednesday. El Paso now has a two games to none lead and can win the 2016 PCL title with one more victory in Oklahoma City.
Austin Hedges went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs in the win, while Carlos Asuaje also went deep, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and his first homer of the postseason. The game was tied 2-2 in the fifth when the Chihuahuas scored four runs to surge ahead, then adding three more runs in the sixth inning to build the comfortable lead.
Chihuahuas’ starter Frank Garces allowed only one earned run in five innings to get his first playoff win with El Paso. The Chihuahuas went 2-for-2 pinch hittingWednesday, with both Nick Torres and Franchy Cordero picking up pinch-hit singles, contributing to El Paso’s 14 hits.
