Eastwood duo wins Sweet Play of Week #6

EL PASO, Texas – Eastwood High School become the sixth different school to win Sweet Play of the Week in 2016 thanks to quarterback Evan Aguilar and wide receiver Evan Graham.

Aguilar and Graham connected on a touchdown pass in Friday’s game against Franklin that has to be seen to be believed (click on the video above to see the play and hear Evan and Evan discussing it).

The Troopers ended up losing by a point, 41-40, but that didn’t stop them from taking home a cake and cupcakes this week as a consolation prize.

Aguilar has filled in admirably for starting quarterback Seth Ochoa, who was injured in week three of the season.

Eastwood will get a shot at another team from the west side in Coronado on Friday.

The Troopers also have tough games remaining against Americas and Montwood left in the regular season.

They say the goal is to finish district play with no more losses and then turn their attention to the postseason.

But for now, they’ll enjoy some cake!
