New Mexico State University Police are holding a news conference regarding a late-night shooting on campus.

Authorities say officers were dispatched after a report of a man with a gun at Chamisa Village late Monday night. Chamisa Village houses students on campus.

NMSU says when police arrived on the scene, an officer confronted a suspect and shots were fired. At this point it is unclear whether the suspect shot himself, or if he was shot by an officer.
