NMSU player suspended after scuffle

New Mexico State will be without one of its star players Tuesday after a scuffle broke out during a home game on Sunday.

Aggie Guard Ian Baker was suspended by the NCAA after a shove to the face of a player fore Bethune-Cookman. It happened in the early minutes of the game after Baker had fouled BCU’s Brandon Tabb.

The Aggies bench cleared and that resulted in 5 other Aggie players and two assistant coaches being ejected. No other suspensions were handed down by the NCAA or the WAC. NMSU went on to win the game 89-73.

Baker will miss Tuesday night’s home game against Nicholls.
