Car catches fire at gas station

A car caught fire while a person was pumping gas at a West El Paso gas station Saturday.

It happened around 4 P.M. at the Valero gas station on Redd Road and Doniphan, according to an employee working there.

The employee, who did not want to speak on camera, told ABC-7 a customer was pumping gas when their car caught fire. It’s unclear what happened but the employee says fire crews were able to control the blaze immediately.

Police tell Abc-7 no one was injured.

Damage could be seen on the back end of the car and the gas pump. The employee tells Abc-7 the gas station is taped off and will be closed until further notice.
