Police identify woman killed in West El Paso
Detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit identified the woman murdered in West El Paso as 51-year-old Dawn Denise Weatherly.
Weatherly’s body was found Monday evening inside an apartment unit at 5890 Bandolero.
Westside Regional Command officers responded to a stabbing call. Friends of the victim, who had not heard from the woman and went to check up on her, found the woman dead with what appeared to be stab wounds.
Police clarified Tuesday an investigation by detectives and the medical examiner’s office revealed the victim had not been stabbed. Police did not say how the woman was killed.
No suspects are in custody.
