UTEP falls at Louisiana Tech for 11th consecutive loss

UTEP was only able to score 44 points, its lowest output of the season, in a loss at Louisiana Tech Thursday.

The Bulldogs improved to 10-5 with a 64-44 win while simultaneously dropping the Miners to 2-12 on the season.

The loss was the 11th straight for the Miners, the longest such streak in 64 years for the proud program.

Omega Harris scored 23 points for UTEP, more than half the team’s total output. Only three other Miners even scored a point.

The 44 points scored by the Miners was the lowest of the season so far for a team that hadn’t failed to break 50 until their loss to the Bulldogs.

UTEP will try to rebound on Saturday at Southern Mississippi.

UTEP center Matt Willms also left the game after apparently suffering yet another foot injury. His status for Saturday’s game at Southern Miss is currently unclear.
