Florida doctor, companion allegedly attacked by “illegals” while hunting in Presidio County
A doctor from Florida is recovering at University Medical Center in El Paso after he and another person were allegedly shot while on a hunting trip.
WEAR, the ABC affiliate in Pensacola, Florida, reports 54-year-old Edwin Roberts was shot in the arm and Walker Daughtry was shot in the abdomen. The men were reportedly hunting at the Circle Dug Ranch near Candelaria, Texas, about a five hour drive from El Paso.
WEAR reports Roberts is a chiropractor in Pensacola. A reporter with the TV station spoke with Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominquez, who reportedly mentioned the attack was “not linked to cross border violence.”
Roberts was rushed to University Medical Center in El Paso, where he’s undergone a second surgery, WEAR reports. The 26-year-old Walker was airlifted to El Paso for treatment of the gunshot wound in the abdomen.
A Go Fund Me account for Walker Daugherty states the men “were involved in a shootout with some illegals, when the illegals tried to steal Walker’s RV with them still inside.”
The account states Walker, who is reportedly uninsured, is in stable condition in the intensive care unit.
