Suspect in deadly West El Paso shooting arrested

Police have identified the victim killed and the suspect involved in a shooting in West El Paso Saturday night.

Crimes Against Person officers responded to the shooting on the 4200 block of Canterbury in West El Paso. Police dispatchers said the call came in around 6:30 p.m.

According to police, when officers arrived they found a man dead inside the home. Officials said the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.

Police have identified the victim as 32-year-old Daniel Francisco Morua and the suspect as 47-year-old Clifton Stevens. Police say the men knew each other, and Morua was an overnight guest of Stevens. Police say the two men got into an argument and Stevens pulled out a handgun, shooting and killing Morua.

Stevens was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $900,000 bond.
