Jennifer Han to defend world title in El Paso on Feb. 17

IBF World Featherweight champion Jennifer Han will defend her title for the third time on Feb. 17 at the Don Haskins Center.

Han will be fighting on a card that also includes Mexican superstar Jose Felix.

Felix will fight Jonathan Maicelo of Peru, while Han will take on Canada’s Olivia Gerula, a former world champion herself.

This will be the third time that Han will attempt to defend her title. She first won the belt by knocking off Helen Joseph at the Haskins Center in September of 2015.

Han next defeated Calista Silgado at Southwest University Park before recently knocking off Liliana Martinez in October of 2016 in a fight that was also at the Haskins Center.

Han, a native of El Paso, has yet to defend her title outside of her hometown.

Her challenger enters with a record of 18-16-2.

Tickets for the event are expected to be priced from $25 to $100 (plus service fees) and will likely go on sale at UTEP on Wednesday.
