Veterans, first responders raise flag to mark Inauguration Day

Veterans of wars past, and first responders gathered at Veterans Park in Las Cruces to watch the pomp and circumstance.

They came together in prayer, and to salute an honor flag. It was their way of welcoming President Trump on the day of his inauguration.

American Legion Chaplin Lawrence Orvis said he knows the nation is divided, but our future is bright.

“I think that’s what its going to take. just take one day at a time,” said Orvis. “Our country will unite once they see what our president is all about. America once again will shine.”
