Man wanted on ‘lewd act’ charges arrested for alleged possession of meth and child porn
Police arrested an El Paso man wanted in Ventura, California on charges of Lewd Act Upon a Child, Sending Harmful Matter and Luring.
EPPD detectives and FBI agents worked with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office to track and arrest 28-year-old Harold Eugene Smith at his home on the 7300 block of O’Toole.
When Smith was taken into custody, police said, he was allegedly in possession of a “rock” of Methamphetamine and more than 40 sexually explicit images of a teen from California on his cell phone and computer.
Police in El Paso charged him with Possession of Child Pornography and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The arrest was made Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Smith was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on the Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Child Pornography with bonds totaling $80,000.
Smith is being held without bond for the three charges out of California, police said.
