The UTEP hockey team continued its stellar season by winning the Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference playoffs with ease.

The Miners defeated Dallas Baptist by a final of 6-0 Saturday afternoon at the Events Center to win the first-ever TCHC postseason championship.

The Miners also claimed the regular season conference crown.

The win over Dallas Baptist followed Friday’s 7-1 victory over Texas Tech in the semifinals.

UTEP led 3-0 after two periods against DBU before pouring in three more goals in the final period to win the title.

The Miners earned the right to compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association regionals beginning on Feb. 24.
