Gang Unit investigating fight in Central El Paso

Update:

Police say they are investigating a fight reported at the 4800 Block of Dyer St. and Truman Ave.

An ABC-7 photographer saw officers going in and out of a business one block down the road, on the 4700 block of Dyer St. It is unclear if the business has anything to do with the reported fight.

Our photographer saw 3 constable vehicles and 4 El Paso Police patrol cars when he arrived, and two people detained. One of them was inside a patrol car.

A police spokesman said investigators may release more information tomorrow.

County constables, backed by the El Paso Police Department’s Gang Unit, are at an auto shop near Dyer and Truman in Central.

Police spokesman Darryl Petry said a person is in custody. The gang unit will be handling the investigation, a police department tweet states.

An ABC-7 photographer at the scene said two people appeared to be in custody and officers were seen going in and out of the property wearing blue gloves.
