5 arrested after man allegedly fires weapon; 4 facing drug charges
The police department’s Gang Unit arrested and charged five suspects after hearing multiple shots fired while investigating an unrelated incident on Dyer Tuesday evening.
The arrests were made at an apartment complex on the 3800 block of Hayes shortly after 7 pm, police said.
Police said 22-year-old Victor Martinez fired numerous rounds from a MAC 9 weapon and then fled into an apartment inside the complex.
Further investigation led Gang officers to an apartment inside the complex where they located Martinez, 21-year old Alan Enriquez, 27-year old Victoria Jeddery, 20-year old Ivan Lara, and 22-year old Felipe Orozco.
Police allegedly found a small amount of marijuana inside the apartment, five grams of cocaine, and the weapon allegedly fired by Martinez.
Martinez, Jeddery, Orozco, and Lara were charged with “Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance” and “Possession of Marijuana.” Martinez was additionally charged with “Discharging Weapon in Certain Municipalities.”
Enriquez was charged with “Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence.” All five were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
The El Paso Police Department’s Narcotics Unit is assisting with the investigation. Police said additional arrests are anticipated.
