Woman crashes into wall near Bassett Middle School

One person was taken to the hospital after crashing into a wall near a school in Central El Paso Thursday morning.

According to emergency dispatchers, the crash happened at around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Elm Street and Tyler Avenue.

That’s near Bassett Middle School.

Emergency crews on the scene told ABC-7 that a woman crashed into a wall that was on the school property. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

The corner of Elm and Tyler is closed to traffic. An EPISD spokesman said that students can still access the school, but the main entrance will be closed.

Staff will be on-hand to direct traffic to the side entrance.

According to EPISD police, the woman suffered a “medical condition” before the crash.
