2017 El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame list set
The El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its list of inductees for the class of 2017.
The induction ceremony will be held at the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino May 3, 2017.
The inductees are full of El Pasoan’s that have achieved numerous accolades over their lifetimes, starting with Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys, Billy Davis. Davis graduated from Irvin high school and played for 2 Super Bowl teams in the Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens.
While Ben Avalos made the list as the retired Eastwood boys state champion coach, along with Anthony Carter who is the coach of three time state champion Hanks girls wrestling team.
Ronnie Hernandez is also part of the 2017 Athletic Hall with ore than four decades of high school and college basketball officiating. Ray Adauto rounds up the bottom of the list as a long time public address announcer, followed by Wally Hartley who is a very successful and recently deceased Ross Middle School coach
