Las Cruces Fire Claims Life of 3-year-old Boy

Las Cruces Fire officials said a fire claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at 7742 Charro St. where they found a single-wide manufactured home ablaze.

The 3-year-old boy was unresponsive, according to fire officials, and was pronounced dead shortly after crews arrived on scene.

Fire officials said two adults escaped the fire with their 7-month-old daughter, but were unable to reach their young son.

The home was declared a complete loss.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
