Doppler Dave visits Colombia Elementary for an ABC-7 StormTrack weather academy
Chief meteorologist “Doppler” Dave Speelman visited Columbia ES in Las Cruces Wednesday, May 3rd, for an ABC-7 StormTrack Weather Academy. Around 70 elementary kids gathered in the gymnasium for the hour long presentation. Doppler Dave conducted several experiments with the kids such as evaluating soil types when it comes to flash flooding; making a cloud and rain in a glass container; using a balloon and water bottles to analyze air pressure and converting the sun’s energy for human benefit such as in solar energy.
